Weekend Quran Classes for Kids

Quran House runs weekend Quran classes for kids at the end of the week only, so Quran study never competes with homework, after-school clubs, or a tired weekday evening. Your child logs in rested, learns for 30 focused minutes, and logs off.

Because the two lessons sit close together and the rest of the week is empty, this course is designed differently from our weekday programs: every session opens with structured review, and every session closes with a short home task that keeps the last lesson alive.

A clear route, not random lessons

Weekend Quran Classes For Kids - Two Lessons, One Teacher, Every Weekend

This is a live, one-to-one Quran course taught twice each weekend, with the same teacher every time so your child never re-explains where they stopped. Lessons cover Arabic reading from the ground up, Tajweed rules, and memorization from Juz'
Amma at a pace set by your child, not by a class average. If a rule needs another weekend, it gets one; if your child is ready to move ahead early, the next lesson moves forward with them.

The weekend format shapes the syllabus itself. Instead of daily drilling, the course uses spaced review, one new rule per weekend, and small repeatable home tasks — the structure that holds up when lessons are a week apart.

Connected curriculum

8 Building Blocks of Your Child's Weekend Quran Syllabus

The curriculum is split so the first session introduces and the second consolidates. Your child's starting point is set in the free trial, so beginners and children who already read start in the right place.

  1. Weekend Review Anchor

Every weekend opens by re-reading the previous page and reciting the last memorized verses. This is the single step that stops the week-long break from erasing progress.

  2. Arabic Letters And Short Vowels

Complete beginners start with letter shapes, sounds, and harakat using Noorani Qaida, paced for two sessions a week. The teacher spends as many weekends as the child needs before moving on.

  3. Joining Letters And Reading Whole Words

Once sounds are secure, your child moves from single letters to connected words and short verses. The second session each weekend is used to re-read the new material until it flows without hesitation.

  4. One Tajweed Rule Per Weekend

Rules such as noon sakinah, meem sakinah, madd, and qalqalah are introduced one at a time, never stacked. The rule is explained in the first session and applied inside real verses in the second.

  5. Memorization From Juz' Amma

Your child memorizes short surahs with a clear weekly target agreed with you. New verses are taken in the first session and locked in before the weekend ends.

  6. The Five-Minute Home Task

Each weekend closes with a small, specific task for the days ahead: three verses to re-read, or one surah to recite once a day. It takes five minutes and is what makes weekend-only study work.

  7. Meaning Of What Is Memorized

Alongside recitation, your child learns what each short surah is about in simple, age-appropriate language. Understanding the words gives a young reader a reason to keep them.

  8. Monthly Recitation Checkpoint

Once a month, one session is used to recite everything covered so far from memory and read aloud from the mushaf. The result is written into your progress report before the next term target is set.

Course outcomes

Skills Your Kids Carry Through the School Year

Targets are set per child and reviewed monthly.

Independent, Unhesitant Reading

Your child reads Arabic script without sounding out each letter, including words they have not seen before. This is the skill that makes every later stage possible.

A Memorized Portion That Stays Memorized

Children typically hold a set of short surahs securely rather than a long list recited once and forgotten. The review-first weekend structure is what protects it.

Correct Recitation By Habit

Tajweed rules are applied while reciting, not recalled as theory. Your Kids stop making the common beginner errors in lengthening, stopping, and letter articulation.

A Routine That Survives The School Year

Two fixed weekend slots and a five-minute home task become a rhythm your family keeps through exam seasons and busy terms. Most drop-off happens when Quran study competes with school — here it does not.

How a class runs

Inside a 30-Minute Weekend Lesson for Young Learners

Every session follows the same clear rhythm, so learners always know what comes next.

Review — 5 Minutes

The teacher hears the previous reading and memorization. Any weak spot found here sets the focus for the rest of the session.

New Lesson — 10 Minutes

One new concept is introduced: a letter group, a Tajweed rule, or the next verses. The teacher models it aloud first, always.

Guided Practice — 10 Minutes

Your child reads and repeats while the teacher corrects in real time. Mistakes are fixed in the same session, never carried into the week.

Wrap-Up — 5 Minutes

The teacher sets the short home task and notes what to revisit next weekend. You receive that note the same day.

After every class

What You Get After Every Lesson - A Parent-Ready Progress Note

You get a short written note after each class listing what was read, what was memorized, the correction focus, and the home task. Monthly, these roll up into a progress summary with the next term target. Parents who cannot attend the session still know exactly where their child stands.

Why Quran House

Why Parents Choose Quran House For Weekend Quran Classes For Kids

Qualified teachers, a connected route and progress families can see.

Weekend Scheduling In Your Time Zone

Slots run right across the weekend to suit families in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and the Gulf. You pick two fixed times and keep them.

The Same Teacher Every Weekend

Your Kids work with one assigned teacher, not a rotating pool. With two sessions a week, that continuity matters more, not less.

Certified Teachers, Matched By Gender

All teachers hold Ijazah and are trained to teach children online. You can request a female teacher for your daughter, and most families do.

A Syllabus Designed For A Week-Long Gap

Review-first sessions, one rule per weekend, and short home tasks are not generic teaching habits — they are built specifically for a twice-a-week weekend schedule.

Parents Are Home And Welcome To Sit In

Weekend classes mean you can actually watch a session rather than hear about it afterwards. Many parents join for the first month, then step back.

Free Trial And Flexible Makeups

Start with a free trial class to set your child's level and meet the teacher. If a weekend is missed, the session is rescheduled rather than lost.

“Assalamu Alaikum! I am so thankful for Sheikh Abdullah and the incredible depth of knowledge he brings to every class. “My experience with Quran House Academy has been truly amazing, standing out as one of the best academies I've attended despite trying many others. I have already seen clear improvements in my tajweed, and for the first time, I am able to learn the in-depth meanings behind surahs. The classes are never boring or overly strict; they are always entertaining, and the teacher is calm, fun, and easy to talk to.”

Mustafa

“My experience with this academy has been really amazing. I had been to a lot of Quran classes before, but they just weren't a good fit for me until I found this Quran Academy, which turned out to be the best one I could ever ask for. It helps me memorize the Quran in a fun and effective way. Previously, I didn't know much Quran and felt hesitant, but now I feel great when my friends ask me to recite because I have memorized so much. The teachers are fantastic—they make the learning process easy, fun, and fast while being incredibly supportive. Another great advantage is the reward system that keeps me motivated. Overall, it has made a huge difference in my Quran memorization journey.”

FAQs

Questions about Quran Classes

Practical answers before you book the first class.

What age can my child start?

Children can start from age 4 if they can sit for a short session and follow a screen. Most beginners in our weekend classes are between 5 and 10.

Are two classes a week enough to make progress?

Yes, when the gap between weekends is managed. The review-first structure and the five-minute home task are what keep two sessions a week moving forward.

My child has no Arabic at all. Is that a problem?

No. Beginners start with letter sounds in English-supported explanations, and the teacher speaks your child's language during instruction.

How long is each class?

Thirty minutes per session, twice per weekend. Longer 45-minute slots are available for older children who can hold focus.

Can we choose our exact class times?

Yes. You pick two fixed weekend slots at booking, and they stay reserved for your child each week.

What if we miss a weekend?

Notify us in advance and the session is rescheduled to another open slot. Missed classes are not deducted.

Do you teach memorization or reading first?

Both run together, weighted to your child's level. Beginners lean heavily on reading; children who already read spend more of the session on memorization.

Does my child need to be present with a parent?

Not required, but parents are welcome in the session. Younger children under 6 usually settle faster with a parent nearby for the first few weekends.

What do we need to join?

A laptop, tablet, or phone with a camera, a stable connection, and a mushaf or the digital one the teacher shares on screen.

How do I start?

Book a free trial class at a weekend time that suits you. The teacher assesses your child's level and sends a suggested starting point and term target after the session.
