Read The Quran Independently
You will be able to open the Mushaf and read on your own, without needing someone beside you. This is the main goal most adults come to us with, and the course is built to reach it.
Live 1-to-1 · Private Classes
It is never too late to learn to read the Quran properly. Our online Quran classes for adults in the UK are built for complete beginners, reverts, and those who learnt as children but lost the skill over the years, with a clear path from the first letter to fluent recitation.
Every lesson is one-to-one with a qualified, English-speaking tutor, at a time that fits around your work, commute, and family life. You learn privately and at your own pace, with patient correction and no pressure or judgement, so each class builds your confidence as well as your reading.
A clear route, not random lessons
Adults learn differently from children. You bring your own questions, a busy schedule, and sometimes years of reading habits that need correcting. This course is designed around that reality, starting from where you are now rather than from a fixed programme. Whether you are a complete beginner, a revert, or returning after many years, your tutor builds a learning plan around your level, goals, and available time.
Classes run live on Zoom or Skype with English-speaking tutors who understand life in the UK. Evening, early morning, and weekend slots are available on UK time, so learning fits into your week instead of competing with it.
Connected curriculum
The syllabus moves from the Arabic alphabet to fluent reading with Tajweed. Each stage is adjusted to your current level, so you never repeat what you already know.
You start with the Arabic alphabet, learning how each letter looks and sounds. For adults who have never read Arabic, this stage builds a solid base without rushing, so later reading feels natural rather than forced.
Next, you learn the marks that change how each letter is pronounced. Once these are clear, you can read full words correctly, which is the point where most adult learners start to feel real progress.
Many adults learnt to read as children and picked up mistakes along the way. Your tutor identifies these habits, especially with similar letters like ح and ه or ض and د, and corrects them gently.
You study the core Tajweed rules, including Noon Sakinah, Meem Sakinah, and Madd. Each rule is applied directly while reading real verses, so it becomes part of your recitation rather than theory you forget.
Once the basics are secure, you move to reading directly from the Mushaf. Your tutor helps you build steady pace and accuracy, so you can read a full page without stopping at every word.
You memorise short surahs from Juz Amma to use in your daily prayers. Your tutor checks every word, so what you recite in Salah is correct and said with confidence.
Alongside reading, you learn the English meaning of the surahs you study. Knowing what the words mean makes your recitation more focused and your prayer more personal and connected.
Adults often struggle to keep practising between classes. Your tutor sets a short, realistic revision plan that fits around work, commuting, and family time, so your progress continues between lessons.
Course outcomes
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
You will be able to open the Mushaf and read on your own, without needing someone beside you. This is the main goal most adults come to us with, and the course is built to reach it.
Your prayers will include surahs recited with correct pronunciation and Tajweed. Many learners say this is the change they feel most, as they pray with more certainty and calm.
You will leave with a daily reading habit that works around your lifestyle. Even ten minutes a day becomes consistent practice, keeping your connection with the Quran strong long after the course ends.
With clear reading and Tajweed, you can listen to your children's recitation and correct them at home. Many parents join our adult classes so they can take an active part in their family's Quran learning.
Inside a real lesson

How a class runs
Every session follows the same clear rhythm, so learners always know what comes next.
You begin by reading from your last lesson so your tutor can check what has stuck.
Your tutor introduces a new letter group, Tajweed rule, or passage, explained clearly in English.
You read aloud while your tutor corrects pronunciation in real time, one word at a time if needed.
You finish with a short, specific task to practise before your next class.
Each class ends with a new skill you can use straight away, from a corrected letter to a Tajweed rule. Over the following weeks, those small steps add up to confident, correct reading that you can hear and feel in your daily prayers.
Why Quran House
Qualified teachers, a connected route and progress families can see.
Lessons are scheduled on UK time, with early morning, evening, and weekend options. Whether you work shifts, office hours, or run a family, you can find a slot that stays consistent.
You can choose a tutor you feel comfortable with. Many sisters prefer a female tutor and many brothers prefer a male one, and we respect that choice from your first lesson.
Many adults feel shy about starting from the basics. With one-to-one classes, it is just you and your tutor, so you can ask anything and make mistakes freely without an audience.
There is no fixed speed to keep up with. Your tutor moves faster where you are confident and slows down where you need more time, so every class feels useful rather than rushed.
Every explanation is given in clear English, so you understand the why behind each rule. This makes a real difference for reverts and adults raised in the UK who do not speak Arabic.
Your tutor keeps track of what you have covered and what needs more work. You always know where you stand and what comes next, which helps you stay motivated over the long term.

“My experience with this academy has been really amazing. I had been to a lot of Quran classes before, but they just weren't a good fit for me until I found this Quran Academy, which turned out to be the best one I could ever ask for. Previously, I didn't know much Quran and felt hesitant, but now I feel great when my friends ask me to recite because I have memorized so much. The teachers are fantastic—they make the learning process easy, fun, and fast while being incredibly supportive. Another great advantage is the reward system that keeps me motivated.
