What Lessons Your Child Studies in the Quran Reading for Kids Course

Our lessons in the Quran Reading for Kids Course move in careful steps from single letters to fluent Mushaf reading. Each stage below starts where your child actually is, never where a textbook assumes.

  1. Arabic Letters and Their Correct Shapes

Your child begins with the 28 Arabic letters through the Noorani Qaida, learning each letter's name, sound, and how its shape changes at the start, middle, and end of a word. This stage suits complete beginners.

  2. Short Vowels and Joining Letters

Next, your child learns Fatha, Kasra, and Damma and starts joining two and three letters into syllables. Teachers use repetition and gentle games so young learners stay focused and gain early confidence in blending sounds.

  3. Correct Pronunciation of Difficult Letters

Many non-Arabic-speaking children mix up ع with أ, ح with ه, and ق with ك, and they often struggle with ض. The teacher models each sound slowly, checks mouth position, and repeats until it sounds right.

  4. Long Vowels with Sukoon and Shaddah Marks

Your child learns how long vowels stretch a sound, how Sukoon stops it, and how Shaddah doubles a letter. Mastering these marks turns hesitant letter-by-letter reading into smooth, connected words.

  5. Tanween and Reading Complete Words

Here your child practises Tanween endings and reads full words taken from the Quran itself. This stage bridges the Qaida and the Mushaf, and it usually begins once letters and vowel marks feel automatic.

  6. Moving from the Qaida to the Mushaf

When your child is ready, the teacher introduces the Mushaf, often starting with short Surahs from Juz Amma. Reading verses your child already hears in Salah keeps motivation high and makes each lesson meaningful.

  7. Basic Tajweed Rules for Young Readers

Simple rules such as Ghunnah, Qalqalah, and basic Madd are taught through listening and copying, not memorized definitions. Children who want to go further can later continue with our Tajweed for Kids classes.

  8. Reading Fluency and Regular Revision

The final stage builds speed and accuracy through daily reading and Muraja'ah of earlier pages. Children aiming to read the whole Quran can then move into the Complete Quran Reading (Khatma) Program.

Course outcomes

What Your Child Achieves with the Quran Reading Course for Kids

Progress in the Quran Reading Course for Kids is measured in clear milestones you can hear. These are the outcomes most children reach, Insha'Allah, with steady attendance and daily practice.

Recognizing and Pronouncing Every Arabic Letter Correctly

Your child will identify all 28 letters in every position and pronounce them from their correct points of articulation. Tricky sounds like ع, ح, and ق become clear rather than guessed or replaced with English sounds.

Reading Directly from the Mushaf with Confidence

Your child will open a standard Mushaf and read verses independently, without relying on transliteration. Most children reach this stage after completing the Qaida, and the teacher confirms readiness through a short reading check.

Applying Core Tajweed Rules While Reading

Your child will apply Ghunnah, Qalqalah, and basic Madd naturally while reciting. The aim is correct reading in Salah and at home, so rules are practised on real verses rather than learned as abstract theory.

Reading and Reciting Short Surahs Accurately

Your child will read Surah Al-Fatihah and short Surahs from Juz Amma accurately, often memorizing them along the way. Many families then continue with our Juz Amma Memorization classes for kids to build on this progress.

How a class runs

A Typical 30 Minute Online Class in the Quran Reading for Kids Course

Every session follows the same clear rhythm, so learners always know what comes next.

Warm-Up and Revision of the Previous Lesson

The class opens with a friendly greeting, a short dua, and Muraja'ah of the last lesson. The teacher listens carefully to confirm earlier letters or words are secure before introducing anything new.

Introducing the New Lesson

The teacher presents new letters, marks, or verses on a shared screen, reads them clearly, and asks your child to repeat. Short, focused explanations keep the pace comfortable for your child's age and level.

Correction and Tajweed Practice

Your child reads the new lesson independently while the teacher corrects pronunciation gently and immediately. Mistakes are fixed the moment they happen, which prevents habits that are much harder to undo later.

Homework and Feedback for Parents

The teacher sets a small daily practice task, usually five to ten minutes, and shares brief feedback with parents. These updates show what your child mastered and what needs extra attention that week.

After every class

What Skills Your Child Takes Away from Every Class in the Quran Reading for Kids Course

After each class, your child leaves with a newly learned skill, corrected pronunciation of any weak sounds, and a clear practice task. Parents know what was covered and how to support revision before the next lesson.

“My experience with this academy has been really amazing. I had been to a lot of Quran classes before, but they just weren't a good fit for me until I found this Quran Academy, which turned out to be the best one I could ever ask for. It helps me memorize the Quran in a fun and effective way. Previously, I didn't know much Quran and felt hesitant, but now I feel great when my friends ask me to recite because I have memorized so much. The teachers are fantastic—they make the learning process easy, fun, and fast while being incredibly supportive. Another great advantage is the reward system that keeps me motivated. Overall, it has made a huge difference in my Quran memorization journey.”
