About The Noorani Qaida Course: The Base Of Quran Reading

Noorani Qaida is a small book that teaches you to read the Quran. It is named after Sheikh Noor Muhammad Haqqani. It does not start with verses. It starts with the parts that make up each word.

You learn them in order: letters, joined letters, short vowels, Tanween, long vowels, Sukoon and Shaddah. So when you open the Quran, every mark on the page looks known to you.

We teach Noorani Qaida in English. You learn why each sound is read the way it is. You don't just copy it. This helps a lot if you did not hear Arabic at home. The teacher says each sound first. You say it back. Your teacher fixes mistakes right away. This matters at any age. A wrong sound you learn at the start is hard to fix later.

What You'll Learn In The Noorani Qaida Course: 8 Steps From Letters To Quran

Our Noorani Qaida lessons follow the classic Qaida order. You learn one skill at a time. Each lesson opens the door to the next. You never read something you have not been taught.

  1. Arabic Letters: Say Every Sound Right

You learn the Arabic letters one by one. You also learn where each sound comes from in your mouth or throat. This is called Makharij. We spend extra time on sounds English does not have, like ع, ح, خ, ق and ض. We also work on pairs that English speakers mix up, like ث and س, or ذ and ز.

Many people want to move on once they "know the letters." But the sounds come first. Everything else is built on them. So we never rush this step.

  2. Letter Shapes: Spot Letters Inside Words

Arabic letters change shape. The shape depends on where the letter sits in a word. It can be at the start, in the middle or at the end. You learn to spot each letter in all its shapes. Then you read two and three letters joined together.

This is where you stop just saying the ABCs. You start to see letters inside real words.

  3. Huroof Muqatta'at: Read the Letters That Open Surahs

Some Surahs start with single letters, like الم, يس and حم. You read these by their letter names. You do not read them as words.

Learn them early, and you will read them right the first time you see them in the Quran.

  4. Short Vowels (Fatha, Kasra, Damma): Start Reading Sounds

Short vowel marks turn letters into sounds. بَ says "ba." بِ says "bi." بُ says "bu." You read each letter with each mark until it feels easy.

This is where reading really starts. Now you can sound out small words on your own. You don't need English letters to help you.

  5. Tanween: Read the Double Vowel Marks

Tanween (ـً ـٍ ـٌ) adds a soft "n" sound to the end of a word. You learn to spot these double marks. You learn to say them right. You also learn how they differ from single marks.

Many new learners mix up single and double marks. So you practice until you can tell them apart fast.

  6. Long Vowels and Leen Letters: Hold Each Sound the Right Length

You learn the long vowel letters (ا و ي). They stretch a sound. You also learn the standing vowel marks you see all through the Quran. And you learn the soft Leen sounds in words like خَوْف and بَيْت.

Holding a sound for the right time is your first real step into Tajweed. It shapes how you will recite from now on.

  7. Sukoon and Shaddah: Read Full Words Smoothly

Sukoon stops a letter with no vowel. Shaddah makes a letter double. You practice each one alone. Then you use both in longer words, just like in the Quran.

This is where your reading speeds up. Words that felt hard start to flow.

  8. Beginner Tajweed: Read Your First Quran Words

In the last lessons of the Noorani Qaida Course, you learn a few easy Tajweed rules. These include Ghunnah, Qalqalah, and the basic rules of Noon Sakinah and Meem Sakinah. You also learn where to stop at the end of a verse. Then you use all you know to read real Quran words.

By the end, you have not just finished a book. You are ready to read the Quran itself.

Course outcomes

What You'll Be Able to Do After the Noorani Qaida Course

When you finish the Noorani Qaida Course, your base is ready. You can do four things you could not do before.

Read Arabic Without English Letters

You read the Quran straight from the Arabic letters. You no longer need Arabic words spelled out in English.

This is the real goal of Noorani Qaida. English letters can't show Arabic sounds well. People who lean on them often stay stuck for years.

Say Every Arabic Letter Right

You say each letter from the right place in your mouth. You can hear the difference between close sounds, like ح and ه, س and ص, or ء and ع.

This matters. In Arabic, one wrong letter can change what a word means. You will hear the change right away in the Surahs you say in Salah.

Read the Quran From the Mushaf

You are ready to read from the Quran itself. Most people start with the short Surahs of Juz Amma. You can follow the Imam in Taraweeh. If you are a parent, you can sit with your child and read together.

The move from Qaida to Quran feels natural. You have already practiced every sound and mark on the page.

Be Ready for Tajweed and Hifz

You are ready for a Tajweed or Quran memorization course.

People who skip the Qaida often learn verses with wrong sounds. These are hard to fix later. A strong Qaida base means all you learn next is built the right way.

How a class runs

Inside a 30-Minute Noorani Qaida Class

Every session follows the same clear rhythm, so learners always know what comes next.

Review the Last Lesson

The class starts with a quick review. You read a few lines you already know. This helps you settle in. It also shows your teacher what you remember.

Hear the New Sound, Then Repeat It

Your teacher shows you the next sound or rule. The teacher reads it out loud. You listen, then say it back. This is the old "listen, then read" way. You copy the right sound. You don't guess.

Read Aloud and Get Fixed Right Away

You read from the Qaida page. Your teacher fixes each mistake right away, before it turns into a habit. The pace fits you. It slows down when a sound is hard. It speeds up when you feel sure. Adults learn the reason behind each rule.

Recap and Take Home a Short Task

The class ends with a short recap. You get a small task to practice before the next class. A few minutes a day at home keeps you moving forward.

After every class

You Read the Quran on Your Own From First Letter to First Verse

By the end of the Noorani Qaida Course, you open the Quran and read it yourself. You read letter by letter and word by word, with the right sounds. Many adults wait years for this moment. For parents, it means hearing their child read the words of Allah for the first time.

“My experience with this academy has been really amazing. I had been to a lot of Quran classes before, but they just weren't a good fit for me until I found this Quran Academy, which turned out to be the best one I could ever ask for. It helps me memorize the Quran in a fun and effective way. Previously, I didn't know much Quran and felt hesitant, but now I feel great when my friends ask me to recite because I have memorized so much. The teachers are fantastic—they make the learning process easy, fun, and fast while being incredibly supportive. Another great advantage is the reward system that keeps me motivated.
