Read the Quran in Arabic
You will open the Mushaf and read the Arabic script on your own. You will not need English letters to help you. This is the main goal of Noorani Qaida for beginners.
Live 1-to-1 · Private Classes
Noorani Qaida for beginners at Quran House is a live, one-on-one online course for adults who want to read the Quran in Arabic. It is made for people who are starting from zero. You may be new to Islam. You may be a parent who wants to read with your kids.
Or you may know short Surahs by heart but can't read the script. In this course, you start with the Arabic letters and their sounds. Then you move step by step to real Quran words, with no need for English spelling.
Have you tried apps, videos, or a book on your own and got stuck? The problem is not your age or skill. Most people get stuck because they have no clear plan and no one to fix their mistakes. This course gives you both.
A clear route, not random lessons
The Noorani Qaida is a simple book that teaches you how to read Arabic. It shows you the letters, the vowel marks, and how letters join. Each lesson builds on the one before it. By the time you open the Mushaf, the script is no longer a puzzle. It is a code you know how to read.
The Quran House Noorani Qaida for beginners adults course follows the same steps, but it is built for how adults learn. Kids often learn the Qaida by saying it over and over. Adults learn faster when they know why a sound works the way it does.
Every class is live and just you and your teacher. Your teacher hears each letter you read and fixes it right away, with no one else listening. This matters most with sounds that English does not have, like ع, ح, ق, and ض. Adults often use the closest English sound instead. If no one fixes this early, the habit sticks. It is much harder to change once you read full verses.
Connected curriculum
The course follows the classic Noorani Qaida path. You go from single letters to reading Quran words with ease. Each step is short. You practice it until it feels solid, then you move on. You set the pace based on your own time.
You will learn all 29 Arabic letters, counting Hamzah, on their own. You will also learn how to say each one the right way. Your teacher shows you where each sound comes from. Some come from the throat, some from the tongue, and some from the lips. These points are called Makharij.
In Arabic, most letters change shape. The shape depends on where the letter sits in a word: at the start, in the middle, or at the end. In this step, you learn to spot these shapes and read letters that are joined.
Some Surahs start with letters read one by one, like الٓمٓ and حمٓ. You will learn to read these letter names the right way. You will also learn which ones are stretched when you read them.
Many adults enjoy this step. You see letters from Surahs you have heard in prayer. It also means you read real Quran text early in the course.
Arabic letters need small marks to give them a vowel sound. These marks are called Harakat. Fatha makes an "a" sound. Kasra makes an "i" sound. Damma makes a "u" sound. You will read letters and short sounds with each mark until it feels natural.
Tanween is a double vowel mark. It adds an "n" sound to the end of a word. There are three kinds: Fathatain, Kasratain, and Dammatain. You will learn to spot each one and say it the right way.
Next, you learn the long vowels. These use Alif, Waw, and Yaa. You also learn the standing vowel marks, which stretch a sound too. Then you learn the Leen letters, which make a soft, gliding sound.
Your teacher shows you how long to hold each vowel. Many adults cut long vowels short or stretch short ones. This often comes from reading in English letters, where "a" and "aa" look almost the same.
Sukoon means a letter has no vowel, so the sound stops. Shaddah means a letter is said twice. You will practice both in short sounds and full words. You will also see words that use both marks together.
The last step puts it all together. You read real words and short verses from the Quran. You also meet a few basic Tajweed rules, like Qalqalah and Ghunnah.
Many adults already know short Surahs by heart. They often read from memory, not from the page. To make sure you are really reading, your teacher gives you verses you have not learned by heart. Bit by bit, you read longer parts, at a smoother pace, with more trust in yourself.
Course outcomes
By the end of the course, you will have a strong base for every next step in learning the Quran. It does not matter how old you are when you start.
You will open the Mushaf and read the Arabic script on your own. You will not need English letters to help you. This is the main goal of Noorani Qaida for beginners.
You will say each letter from the right place in your mouth or throat. This includes sounds that English does not have. Saying letters the right way keeps the meaning of what you read, in prayer and beyond.
Fatha, Kasra, Damma, Tanween, long vowels, Sukoon, and Shaddah will not slow you down. You will know what each mark means and how it changes the sound, just by looking at it.
With a strong Qaida base, you can move on to a Tajweed course or start to learn Surahs by heart. You will build on good reading, not on old mistakes.
Inside a real lesson

How a class runs
Every session follows the same clear rhythm, so learners always know what comes next.
The class starts with a short review of the last lesson. Your teacher checks what you remember and fixes any sound that slipped. This helps a lot after a busy week.
Your teacher shows you the next letters or marks. Then they explain how it works in simple English, with clear examples on the screen.
You read the new part out loud. Your teacher listens and fixes mistakes as you go. This is where most of the learning happens. It is a private class, so mistakes are normal and welcome.
The class ends with a short recap. You also get a small task to practice before your next class. It is short enough to fit into a busy day.
You'll Walk Away From Every Lesson Reading Letters And Words You Couldn't Read Before
Every session ends with a reading skill you didn't have when you logged in, whether that's a new letter, a vowel mark or a full phrase. Over the weeks, these small steps add up until you can open the Mushaf and read it yourself.
Why Quran House

When you finish the Qaida, you can go on with Quran House to Tajweed or learning the Quran by heart.
