Recitation Correction Classes (Tashih Al-Tilawah)

Quran House Recitation Correction Classes (Tashih al-Tilawah) are online Quran classes for adults. They are for people who can read the Quran but want to read it the right way. Tashih tilawah means "fixing the recitation." A teacher listens to you read and helps you fix each mistake.

Many adults learned to read the Quran as kids. After that, no one checked their reading again. Work and family took up their time. You may have tried apps or videos, but they can't hear you. This course gives you Quran recitation correction in short classes that fit your week.

About the Recitation Correction Classes (Tashih al-Tilawah)

The Recitation Correction Classes (Tashih al-Tilawah) are a Quran course made for adults. You start with the way you read now. Your teacher helps you fix one sound at a time. The goal is to read the Quran in a clear and correct way.

Teachers of the Quran sort mistakes into two kinds. Clear mistakes change a letter or a vowel. They can change what a word means. Hidden mistakes break a small Tajweed rule, like a nose sound that is held too short. Your time is short, so we fix clear mistakes first. Then we work on the small rules.

Connected curriculum

What You Will Study in the Recitation Correction Classes (Tashih al-Tilawah)

This course teaches the recitation skills adults need most. You start with the sound of each letter. Then you move to vowels, Tajweed rules, and where to stop. At the end, you use each skill in the surahs you pray with.

  1. A Skill Check to Hear How You Read Now

Your first class starts with you reading a short part of the Quran. Your teacher listens and writes down each mistake. You do not pass or fail.

This list becomes your plan. Most adults make the same few mistakes over and over. Once you know them, the work feels easy to manage.

  2. Where Each Letter Sound Comes From (Makharij)

Each Arabic letter comes from its own spot in the throat, tongue, or lips. This spot is called the makhraj. If a sound comes from the wrong spot, it turns into a new letter.

You will learn to feel where each sound starts. Your teacher will show you where your tongue should touch. With practice, the right sound will feel normal.

  3. How to Tell Letters That Sound Alike Apart

Some letters are hard for English speakers to tell apart. Some pairs are ح and ه, ق and ك, ع and ء, or ص and س. One wrong letter can change what a word means. This is why so many adults want to fix Quran recitation mistakes.

Here is one case. قلب (qalb) means "heart," and كلب (kalb) means "dog." You will practice these pairs side by side. Soon you will hear the change in real verses.

  4. Short and Long Vowel Sounds (Harakat and Madd)

Arabic has short vowel marks. It also has long sounds called madd. If you cut a long sound short, the word can change. Many adults do this and don't know it.

You will learn how long each sound should last. Your teacher will count the beats with you. Your reading will flow at an even pace.

  5. Heavy and Light Letters (Tafkhim and Tarqiq)

Some letters have a full, heavy sound. These are ص, ض, ط, ظ, and ق. Other letters are said in a light, thin way. If you mix them up, your reading sounds flat.

You will practice heavy and light letters in Quran words. You will also learn when the letter ر is heavy and when it is light. This small skill changes how you sound.

  6. Noon and Meem Rules (Ghunnah)

The letters ن and م have their own rules. Sometimes you hold a soft hum in the nose. This hum is called ghunnah. Other times the noon mixes into the next letter or hides.

Many hidden mistakes happen here. You will learn each rule with short examples. Then you will find them in surahs you already know.

  7. Where to Stop and Start Again (Waqf and Ibtida)

If you stop in the wrong place, a verse can seem to mean something else. The Mushaf has small signs that show where you may stop. Stopping is called waqf. Starting again is called ibtida.

You will learn what the main stop signs mean. You will also learn where to start after you take a breath. This keeps the meaning of each verse whole.

  8. Surah Al-Fatiha and the Surahs You Pray With

You read Surah Al-Fatiha in each unit of prayer. That makes it the most important surah to read right. Your teacher checks it with you word by word.

Next, you move to the short surahs you use in salah. You fix what you read each day first. Your prayer will show the change within your first few weeks.

Course outcomes

What Are the Outcomes of the Recitation Correction Classes (Tashih al-Tilawah)

This course helps you make changes you can hear. By the end, your Quran reading will sound clear and steady. You will also know how to keep it that way on your own.

Clear and Correct Letter Sounds

Each letter will come from the right spot. You will stop mixing up letters that sound alike. Your words will keep their true meaning.

The people around you will hear it too. Your reading will be clean and easy to follow.

More Trust in Your Salah

You will know that Al-Fatiha and your prayer surahs are correct. You won't keep asking yourself if you said a word right. You can think about the meaning instead.

Many adults feel this change first. They feel calm when they know their prayer is right.

The Skill to Catch Your Own Mistakes

Right now, you may not hear some of your mistakes. All readers start out this way. This course trains your ear to hear them.

By the end, you will catch many slips as they happen. This skill helps you keep your reading right for years.

The Courage to Read Out Loud in Front of Others

Many adults feel nervous when they read the Quran out loud. They rush, and rushing hides mistakes. This course helps you slow down and read at a calm pace.

You will feel ready to lead your family in prayer. You can also read in a study group or help your kids read.

Every session follows the same clear rhythm, so learners always know what comes next.

Review Last Week's Part

You start by reading the part you practiced last week. Your teacher checks that your fixes stayed in place.

Read a New Part While Your Teacher Listens

Next, you read a new part of the Quran. Your teacher listens with care and notes each mistake.

Fix Two or Three Mistakes Together

Your teacher picks the most important mistakes. You hear the right sound and repeat it until you get it. Fixing too much at once does not last, so each class keeps to a few.

Get Your Practice Plan for the Week

The class ends with a short plan to follow at home. You will know which words and sounds to practice.

After every class

A Clear Correction List After Every Session to Track Your Progress

After each class, you get a short list. It shows what you fixed and what to practice next. Each week, your list of mistakes gets shorter. You can track your progress even with a full-time job and a family. Each week adds to your recitation skills.

“My experience with Quran House Academy has been truly amazing, standing out as one of the best academies I've attended despite trying many others. I have already seen clear improvements in my tajweed, and for the first time, I am able to learn the in-depth meanings behind surahs. The classes are never boring or overly strict; they are always entertaining, and the teacher is calm, fun, and easy to talk to.”

Mustafa

“My experience with this academy has been really amazing. I had been to a lot of Quran classes before, but they just weren't a good fit for me until I found this Quran Academy, which turned out to be the best one I could ever ask for. It helps me memorize the Quran in a fun and effective way. Previously, I didn't know much Quran and felt hesitant, but now I feel great when my friends ask me to recite because I have memorized so much. The teachers are fantastic—they make the learning process easy, fun, and fast while being incredibly supportive. Another great advantage is the reward system that keeps me motivated. Overall, it has made a huge difference in my Quran memorization journey.”

Practical answers before you book the first class.

What Are The Recitation Correction Classes (Tashih Al-Tilawah)?

They are Quran classes where a teacher listens to you read and helps you fix each mistake. Tashih tilawah means "fixing the recitation." The focus is on how you read, not on theory.

Who Are The Recitation Correction Classes (Tashih Al-Tilawah) For?

They are for adults who can read Arabic letters but are not sure they read right. They suit people who learned as kids or by ear. They also suit anyone who wants their prayer surahs checked.

I Learned The Quran As A Child. Is It Too Late To Fix My Reading?

No, it is not too late. Old habits take more practice, but they can change. Fix a few at a time and practice them each day.

Do I Need To Speak Arabic To Join?

No, you don't need to speak Arabic. You only need to read the Arabic letters, even if you read slowly.

How Is Tashih Tilawah Different From A Tajweed Course?

A Tajweed course often teaches the rules in order, from first to last. Tashih tilawah starts with how you read. It fixes the mistakes you make and teaches the rules you need.

I Tried Apps And Videos. Why Would This Work Better?

A video can play the right sound, but it can't hear you. In this course, your teacher listens and corrects you right away. This is how practice turns into progress.

How Long Does It Take To Fix Quran Recitation Mistakes?

It depends on how many mistakes you have and how often you practice. Letter mistakes often get better first. Small Tajweed mistakes take longer, since a new habit has to replace an old one.

How Much Practice Do I Need If I Work Full Time?

A few minutes a day is enough to start. Practice only the sounds from your last class. Short daily practice works better than one long practice on the weekend.
