About the Tarteel Course

Tarteel means reading the Quran slowly and clearly. Allah tells us in Surah Al-Muzzammil to "recite the Quran with measured recitation" (73:4). A famous saying linked to Ali ibn Abi Talib says Tarteel has two parts. The first part is saying each letter the right way.

The second part is knowing where to stop. This course teaches your child both parts in small steps.

Your child learns where each sound comes from in the mouth. They learn how long to hold each vowel. They also learn when to pause and take a breath. Your child learns to read with care, so each word of their Quran recitation sounds right.

Connected curriculum

What Your Child Will Study in the Tarteel Course (Slow, Measured Recitation)

Good recitation skills grow one layer at a time. Your child starts with clear letter sounds. Then they move on to smooth and steady reading. Each lesson builds on the one before, so your child always knows what comes next.

  1. Say Each Arabic Letter from the Right Place (Makharij)

Each Arabic letter comes from its own spot in the mouth or throat. This spot is called the makhraj. Your child learns to find each spot and say each letter correctly.

Kids often mix up letters that sound close, like ح and ه, or س and ص. The teacher says them slowly and shows your child where to place the tongue. Soon your child can hear the difference and say each letter clearly.

  2. Tell Heavy Letters from Light Letters (Sifaat)

Some letters sound heavy and full. Others sound light and soft. These traits are called sifaat. They give each letter its own voice.

Your child learns which letters are heavy, like ق and ط, and which stay light. This small skill makes a big change. It helps each word sound the way it should.

  3. Hold Long Vowels for the Right Time (Madd)

Madd means making a vowel sound longer. Some vowels are short. Others are held for a few beats. Tarteel gives each one its full time.

When kids read fast, they often cut long vowels short. Your child learns to count the beats as they read. That keeps their reading even and correct.

  4. Use the Noon and Meem Rules While Reading

The letters ن and م can change their sound. It depends on the letter that comes next. Sometimes they blend into it. Sometimes they hide. Sometimes they hum through the nose. This hum is called ghunnah.

Your child learns these rules from real verses. The teacher points them out while your child reads. The rules stick because your child uses them right away.

  5. Know Where to Stop and Start a Verse (Waqf)

Stopping in the wrong place can change what a verse means. Tarteel teaches your child where to pause. It also shows where to keep going and where to start again.

Your child learns the small stop signs printed in the Mushaf. They also learn to breathe at the right time. Their reading becomes easy to follow.

  6. Keep a Slow and Steady Reading Pace

The Quran can be read at a few different speeds. Tarteel is the slow and careful one. Your child learns to keep the same pace from the start of a surah to the end.

Kids often speed up near the end of a surah they know well. Speed hides mistakes your child can't even hear. The teacher helps your child notice this and slow down again.

  7. Learn by Listening to Good Reciters

Kids learn a lot by copying what they hear. In this course, your child listens to slow and clear recitation. Then they repeat it in short parts.

This trains the ear before the tongue. Once your child can hear a mistake, they can start to fix it on their own. Over the weeks, their voice grows smooth and sure.

  8. Read Short Surahs from Juz Amma with Tarteel

Now your child puts all these recitation skills together. They read short surahs from Juz Amma. These are the surahs kids use most in their daily prayers.

The teacher listens closely and gives kind tips. Your child reads the same surah again, a little better each time. With each round, your child feels more proud of their reading.

Course outcomes

What Are the Outcomes of the Tarteel Course (Slow, Measured Recitation)?

By the end of the course, your child will read the Quran in a new way. They will slow down and read with care. They will also feel proud of how they sound. You can expect these four results.

Clear and Correct Quran Recitation

Your child will say each letter from the right spot with the right sound. Long vowels will get their full time. Their Quran recitation will be correct and easy to follow.

Many parents first hear the change during prayer. The words sound clearer and more careful than before.

A Calm Pace with Pauses in the Right Places

Your child will stop rushing through the verses. They will read at one even pace. They will pause where the verse needs a pause.

A calm pace helps your child pay attention to the words. Reading feels peaceful and unhurried.

The Courage to Recite Out Loud

Many kids feel shy when they read the Quran in front of others. Steady practice and kind words help that fear fade away.

Your child will feel ready to read at home, at the mosque, or in front of family. They will know they are reading it right.

A Lasting Love for Reading the Quran

When reading feels good, kids want to do it more. Tarteel turns Quran time into a quiet moment your child enjoys.

This love can last for life. It also gives your child a strong start for memorizing the Quran later on.

“My experience with this academy has been really amazing. I had been to a lot of Quran classes before, but they just weren't a good fit for me until I found this Quran Academy, which turned out to be the best one I could ever ask for. It helps me memorize the Quran in a fun and effective way. Previously, I didn't know much Quran and felt hesitant, but now I feel great when my friends ask me to recite because I have memorized so much. The teachers are fantastic—they make the learning process easy, fun, and fast while being incredibly supportive. Another great advantage is the reward system that keeps me motivated. Overall, it has made a huge difference in my Quran memorization journey.”
