Lessons From Surah Muzammil

There are several lessons from surah al-Musammil such as:

1. Praying Qiyam al layl prayer

The second and third verses demonstrated the importance of Qiyam al layl prayer as Allah commanded his messenger (SAW) to pray it {Stand all night ˹in prayer˺ except a little} (Muzammil 73:2).

2. The greatness of the Quran

The chapter Reminds the believers of the Quran’s greatness and its heavy words as Allah says in verse 4 {˹For˺ We will soon send upon you a weighty revelation} (Muzammil 73:4).

3. Reading the Quran with tajweed

The fourth verse emphasises the importance of reciting the Quran with Tajweed {and reciting the Quran ˹properly˺ in a measured way} (Muzammil 73:4).

4. The importance of patience

Allah Urged the Messenger (SAW) to be patient with the polytheists and abandon them to avoid their harm. This lesson demonstrates the importance of patience and beautiful abandonment as the best dealing with cruel {Be patient ˹O Prophet˺ with what they say, and depart from them courteously} (Muzammil 73:10)

5. Bluster and threats for the disbelievers

The seventeenth verse manifests the hardship of the torment on the judgment day to warn the disbelievers and frighten them {If you ˹pagans˺ persist in disbelief, then how will you guard yourselves against ˹the horrors of˺ a Day which will turn children’s hair grey?} (Muzammil 73: 17).

6. Giving a sadaqah as worship

Clarifying the importance of giving sadaqah to urge the believers to perform it {And continue to perform ˹regular˺ prayers, pay alms-tax, and lend to Allah a good loan} (Muzammil 73:20)

Explaining the virtue of seeking forgiveness as Allah is the most forgiving {And seek Allah’s forgiveness. Surely Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful} (Muzammil 73:20).

Reasons Behind Revealing Surah Muzammil
